Available for Program Assistant
Program Assistant The position requires a strong interest in issues related to “peaceful alternatives”—an end to
the current wars in Afghanistan and Iraq , and advocacy for nuclear disarmament. Tasks require excellent computer literacy
and good writing skills. Assistant will have responsibility for managing information about peace issues and activities
and sending them on through the latest social networking media. Knowledge of excel and access also necessary for ongoing
management of database. Starting position would be 10 hours a week. Responsibilities:
Office
management: - Manage membership information: email contacts, mailing list and contributor database.
- Record contributions and send acknowledgements.
- Respond
to inquiries. Sort through information sent by partner organizations.
- Communicate with membership through email program
notices and action alerts.
- Assist Director with educational programs and work closely with Alliance
Board Chair.
Communication on peace issues through social media

Work with Director to enhance
visibility of LI Alliance programs. - Maintain and update facebook page
for programs and events.
- Set up pay-pal account for contributions.
- Update webpage.
- Create Alliance blog.
Requirements:
College experience, BA preferred; References.
