Pray, Fast, and Organize for an End to the War in Iraq this Lent
Dear joseph,
Lent is a time when Catholics reflect on the life and death of Jesus Christ and his atonement
for our sins. As American Catholics, we have much to atone for. In the last few years, our government started an unprovoked
war, has seemingly condoned torture, and has neglected the human cost of a looming economic crisis.
As Catholics enter into the season of Lent and as the United States begins the sixth year
of the war in Iraq, Catholics for an End to the War in Iraq invites you pray and work for an end to the war as part of your
Lenten sacrifice. You can do this by signing our pledge to recruit 20 of your Catholic friends and family to join the Catholic
movement to end the war.
This Lent, I pledge to work to end the war in Iraq by inviting 20* friends,
family and fellow Catholics to join the Catholic movement to end the war.
For everyone who returns a completed petition form, we will mail back a free Catholics
for an End to the War in Iraq bumper sticker. The petition forms are a great way to invite your Catholic community to join
the movement to end the Iraq War.
This Lent, I pledge to work to end the war in Iraq by inviting 20* friends,
family and fellow Catholics to join the Catholic movement to end the war.
Catholics United collected 20,000 petition signatures in our first 6 months of operations.
We believe that we can collect 10,000 more by Easter. Will you help us grow this movement today by making the pledge?
Sincerely,
James and Chris
The Catholics United Team
