Dear Colleagues,
Thanks to all of you we have at last reached our goal of 100 signatures. The last few from Sheila Croke, Joe Voelker, Dr. Rehman and Rich Tibbets have put us over the top to 108. Hooray......!!!!
We will announce that over 100 LI Clergy and Religious have signed the call to end the war and to bring our soldiers home at the March 19th press conference. The press conference and the vigil later at 5 p.m. will mark the 5th Anniversary of this tragic war in Iraq. See info below about Peace Vigil and please forward to others.
I will send a separate email with an updated clergy list out to you all in the morning. Remember we are still open for more signers. Again thank you so much of your support for this LI Alliance, The Interfaith Alliance, Islamic Center of LI and Pax Christi LI project.
Peace,
Margaret

LI CLERGY AND RELIGIOUS FOR PEACE: A CALL TO END THE WAR

We come together as LI Clergy and Religious for Peace to express our moral opposition to the war in Iraq.

We call for an end to the war in Iraq and the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

We seek to encourage a broad dialogue and a discernment process among Long Island clergy, congregations and communities that will promote a new U.S. foreign policy based on moral values, human dignity, nonviolence and the rule of law
