Dear Friend of Drop the Rock,

Please mark your calendars and join us for our next Drop the Rock Coalition meeting on Wednesday, September 10th at 6:00PM at the Correctional Association (2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. Suite 200, at 125th Street in Harlem).

Drop the Rock Empowerment Day

Invitation and Call for Volunteers!

On Saturday, September 27th Drop the Rock will bring people together across New York City and State to build political power in the communities targeted by the Rockefeller Drug Laws.

We’ll have teams of young people, community leaders, faith leaders, and concerned residents in neighborhoods around New York aiming to:

1.      Collect petition signatures calling for the repeal of the Rockefeller Drug Laws;

2.      Register New Yorkers to vote; and

3.      Educate New Yorkers on the continuing harsh effects of the Rockefeller Drug Laws.

We plan to have teams in the following neighborhoods:

Central Harlem

East Harlem

Washington Heights

South Bronx

Jamaica

Red Hook

East New York

Bedford-Stuyvesant

Fulton Mall, Brooklyn

Hempstead, Long Island

* We encourage participation from other neighborhoods.

Ø        Sign up for your Neighborhood Team today!

To get involved in Empowerment Day please contact Caitlin Dunklee,

Drop the Rock Coordinator at 212-254-5700 x 339 or cdunklee@correctionalassociation.org.

Together, we can engage more New Yorkers in the movement for repeal, strengthen our call for change, and hold policy makers accountable to the communities that are most impacted by the Rockefeller Drug Laws.
