PAX CHRISTI ~an Examination of Conscience

O Lord how long shall I cry for help, and you will not listen? Or cry to you ‘violence’ and you will not save? Why do you make me see wrongdoing and look at trouble? Destruction and violence are before me; strife and contention arise. So the law becomes slack and justice never prevails. The wicked surround the righteous-therefore judgment comes forth perverted.       Habakkuk1:2 -

How can I see the lowly when my eyes are downcast with my own worries?

How can I regard the poor when my words only reflect my own interests?

How can I feel the hunger and the cold arraigned in the fashion of indifference?

How can I be right when I fail to right the wrong of the racism about me?

What right do I have to be at peace when violence surrounds me?

Am I troubled, tormented, saddened, and angry? If not, why not?

Where is the vision that I might see, the path that I might follow?
